For more than 40 years, Robert has served as a criminal trial attorney, earning recognition as a board-certified specialist in criminal law. This distinction reflects a high level of expertise, professionalism, and commitment to the legal field. Throughout his career, he has handled complex cases, developed strong advocacy skills, and built a reputation for fairness and integrity.
His work in the courtroom has provided him with a unique perspective on the justice system. This dual perspective—a defense attorney and Governor’s Councilor —is rare. It allows Robert to see the justice system from multiple angles, balancing the need for public safety with the importance of fairness and due process.
In addition to his legal career, Robert has also held significant public office. As a member of the Governor’s Council from 2013 to 2023, he played a critical role in reviewing judicial nominations and overseeing key decisions that impact the legal system. This position required careful evaluation, independent thinking, and a commitment to ensuring that judges are qualified, fair, and capable of serving the public.
His work on the Council reinforced his belief that integrity and accountability are essential to maintaining trust in government institutions. It also gave him valuable insight into how leadership decisions shape the effectiveness of the justice system over time.
Robert’s experience also includes presently serving as a Clerk Magistrate in our court system. In this capacity, he was entrusted with responsibilities that required sound judgment, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to upholding the law. This role further deepened his understanding of court operations and the importance of fairness at every level of the legal process.
Earlier in his life, Robert served in the United States Army. His military service instilled the discipline, resilience, and dedication that have guided him throughout his career.
